We advise our school district clients on all aspects of charter school law, including petition review, Proposition 39 compliance and special education. Our firm is literally at the forefront of developing charter school law in the state, having represented a school district in the only Supreme Court case concerning charter schools and Proposition 39 as well as serving as lead counsel in other published appellate court cases concerning charter school law.

We routinely assist school districts throughout the state with transactional compliance with Proposition 39, including drafting any board findings required during that regulatory process. We also counsel our clients on a broad range of charter school matters related to petition review, petition disputes, facilities use, memorandums of understanding, and special education.

We have recently been engaged in recovering refunds for school districts as a result of classroom space being over-allocated to charter schools following over-representations of enrollment in Proposition 39 facilities requests.
