Edward J. Southcott is an Associate at Orbach Huff & Henderson. Ed’s practice is focused on special education and student services.
Ed previously represented law enforcement union members across California in disciplinary appeals, contract negotiations, administrative matters, labor matters, and criminal matters. He represented officers involved in critical incidents and argued employment matters before Civil Service Commissions, Personnel Appeal Boards, California State Personnel Board, United States Merit Systems Protection Board, and in California Superior Courts.
Ed is also experienced in representing special needs children facing delinquency allegations and school suspension or expulsion. He represented clients in juvenile delinquency courts, as well as before disciplinary panels.
When not at work, Ed enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and doing anything related to classic cars or Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Ed received his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He graduated magna cum laude and received CALI Awards for earning the highest grades in Legal Writing, Scholarly Legal Writing, Trial Practice, Criminal Procedure, Introduction to Federal Criminal Practice, Constitutional Law, and Introduction to Criminal Trial Practice. Ed was the recipient of an academic scholarship and served as a law review editor.
Ed is admitted to practice in a California State courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
