Sapna Iyer’s practice is focused in the areas of special education, charter schools, and student services. She has experience advising K-12 school and community college districts to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including the California Education and Government Codes, Title V of the California Code of Regulations, Cal/OSHA, California Public Records Act, Ralph M. Brown Act, FEHA, Title VII, and IDEA.
Prior to practicing law, Sapna spent twenty years working in education as teacher and school adminstrator. She holds single subject credentials in English and social studies and a School Administrative Services Credential. She has extensive experience working in K-12 public schools, including district schools, charter schools, independent study, and alternative education programs. Sapna has first-hand experience with many aspects of education law, including school operations and governance, special education, discipline, privacy, student rights, and employee relations.
Sapna received her Juris Doctorate form the University of San Diego, School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis.
