Marley S. Fox is a Partner at Orbach Huff & Henderson. She represents school districts and public agencies throughout the state and primarily focuses her practice on all aspects of charter school law, including oversight, analysis of petitions for establishment of charter schools, charter renewals, material revisions, charter revocations, special education, food service, allocation of facilities pursuant to Proposition 39, facilities disputes, and related transactions, litigation, and appeals.
In addition to her charter school work, Marley has substantial experience litigating real property, labor and employment, construction, and environmental matters. She also possesses significant appellate experience, including drafting writs, preparing records on appeal, drafting appellants’, respondents’, reply, and amicus briefs and oral argument.
Marley advises our public entity clients on general governance matters, including Brown Act, conflict of interest, and responding to Public Record Act requests, and regularly drafts and reviews contracts.
She has also represented juveniles seeking asylum and/or special immigrant juvenile status through the firm’s partnership with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND).
Marley is also a licensed real estate broker.
When she is not working, Marley enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, chasing after her dogs, and experimenting in the kitchen.
Marley received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Marley is admitted by the California State Bar to practice in all state courts, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central and Northern Districts of California.
