Stan M. Barankiewicz is a Partner at Orbach Huff & Henderson and manages the firm’s environmental practice. Stan’s practice is focused on all areas of California and federal environmental law including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA – commonly known as Superfund); land use; real property; school facilities use; school developer fees; Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, business formation, and aviation law.
Stan has over two decades of experience assisting California school districts, community colleges, developers and pilots. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Stan was an environmental professional and was a State of California Registered Environmental Assessor I, REA I-06570.
Stan is experienced in civil litigation and has litigated all over California. He is also well versed in our transactional practice, focusing on environmental, land use, real property, school facilities use, school developer fees, OSHA, business formation, and aviation law.
Stan advises our public entity clients on many facets that are specific to public agencies including Brown Act, conflict of interest, and California Public Record Act matters.
When not assisting clients, Stan is flying some sort of contraption. In addition to being a certified flight instructor for helicopters, he is also a commercial, multiengine pilot with an instrument rating, a paraglider pilot, and a paramotor pilot.
Stan received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, is admitted to the California State Bar to practice in all state courts, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
